John loved life, family and friends.

After a long and spirited fight with cancer, John closed his eyes and was received by his Savior, June 23, 2012. John was born November 8, 1954 to Martha (Mickey) and Garland Allen in West Palm Beach, Florida.

He attended West Gate Elementary, Golfview Jr. High, graduated from Palm Beach/ Twin Lakes High School, and attended Manatee Jr. College, University of Florida, and Florida Atlantic University,

John owned J.G. Allen Inc. and was co-owner of Loggerhead Dive Enterprises with dear friend Jim Hill. He loved scuba diving and all outdoor sports. He held a U.S. Master Merchant Coast Guard License (100 ton) and was a N.A.V.I. Diving Training Instructor. An excellent power lifter, John was a two time World Champion and three times National Champion at Orlando Wide World of Sports.

John’s other passion was service to the Freemasons. He was Past Worshipful Master of Harmonia Lodge #138, twice, District Instructor and District Deputy Grand Master, member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Lake Worth, Knight Commander Court of Honor, member of Palm Beach York Rite Bodies, Past Excellent High Priest of Palm Beach Chapter #24, Past Illustrious Master of Zabud Council #17, Past Commander of Palm Beach Commandry #18, member of Knights of York Cross of Honor, member of Red Cross of Constantine, member of York Rite College of North America. And in April, 2012, John reached the honor of Most Excellent High Priest of Royal Arch Masons of Florida. He was the first Palm Beach County Mason to earn this tribute since 1922.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Mickey and Garland Allen, his sister, Sherry Allen Bell, and his oldest nephew, Brice Allen Huff. He is survived by, son, Carter Allen of Port St. Lucie, sister, Eileen Renault (Jeff) of Palm Beach Gardens, nephew Ryan Huff of Palm Beach Gardens and, grandchildren, Haley and Gunner, aunt, Judy Wainwright (Luther) of St. Augustine, and many wonderful cousins and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

The family will receive friends during VISITATION on Saturday, June 30th beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Immediately following the visitation, there will be a MASONIC SERVICE by Harmonia Lodge, followed by a CELEBRATION OF LIFE  officiated by Rev, John Denmark,  all at:
