At a stated assembly of Orlando Council No. 5 on Thursday, October the 8th, We had a nice turnout of Royal and Select Masters to greet our District Deputy. His message was well received and the fellowship was wonderful. Our own Illustrious Master Ed Smallwood provided the dinner for the evening as a thank you for all the work put in by the officers & members of the Council. We had ribeye steaks, Cheesy potatoes, baked beans, dinner rolls and pecan pie with ice cream for dessert. All the companions were loosening belts and buttons during the meeting. If you are a member of the Orlando York Rite Bodies and haven’t been attending, things are changing and you are missing out! We meet on the 2nd & 4th Thursday every month with a good hot dinner at 6:30 followed by the meeting at 7:30.
Per Big Rick Overbee – “Our Brother Phillip Moffses has informed us that Sandra’s Honorarium Memorial is scheduled for October 24th at the First Presbyterian Church, downtown Orlando at 10:00AM in the Chapel. This date is their anniversary and the place where they got married. If you can be there, the many appendant bodies, including Eastern Star, Amaranth, and Daughters of White Shrine have been asked to participate. Please mark your calendars accordingly.”
On Thursday, August 27th, We had quite a turnout of officers and members for our regularly stated conclave. Several other Sir Knight’s attended that were not in the photograph. We had a good dinner and fellowship prior to the meting and we had a lot of business to discuss with the many upcoming events including the York Rite Festival which is being held at Sanford on both September 18th & 19th. We also have our Annual Christmas Observance coming up in December, followed by our Annual Installation of Officers. Providing honor guard duties at Masonic funerals was discussed as well as participation in a parade we were invited to in Longwood. There is a lot happening at The Orlando York Rite and if you haven’t been coming you are missing out. We need your participation.
For those who did not attended the District Deputy High Priest’s Official Visit to Eureka Chapter No. 7 of Royal Arch Masons on August 13th, you missed a great meeting! We had a delicious meal and fellowship prior to the meeting and Right Excellent Companion Phillip Moffses delivered and inspiring message.
