On our last Commandery conclave we were pleased to receive our District Deputy Grand Commander, E. S.K. Michael Hartman and his entourage.

An excellent pulled pork dinner was offered by S.K. Craig Frazier.

At the end we all joined at the Secretary/Recorder’s desk, R.E. S.K. John Fletcher, Past Grand Commander.

Orlando Council No. 5 Welcomes The District Deputy Grand Illustrious Master

At a stated assembly of Orlando Council No. 5 on Thursday, October the 8th, We had a nice turnout of Royal and Select Masters to greet our District Deputy.  His message was well received and the fellowship was wonderful.  Our own Illustrious Master Ed Smallwood provided the dinner for the evening as a thank you for all the work put in by the officers & members of the Council.  We had ribeye steaks, Cheesy potatoes, baked beans, dinner rolls and pecan pie with ice cream for dessert.  All the companions were loosening belts and buttons during the meeting.  If you are a member of the Orlando York Rite Bodies and haven’t been attending, things are changing and you are missing out!  We meet on the 2nd & 4th Thursday every month with a good hot dinner at 6:30 followed by the meeting at 7:30.  KIMG0003

Passing of Comp. Richard I. Fox

Erik AndersenWe have just received word from Judy Fox that her husband Richard I. Fox  went to receive his reward and is now in the presence of the Great Architect.

Brother, Companion and Sir Knight Fox was a true and loyal Mason and a dedicated York Rite Mason.  Many of us knew him as “Foxy”.  We will miss him in our Ranks.

Information as to memorial services will be forthcoming.  Let us keep his wife Judy and their family in our prayers.

This is your friendly reminder to come out and enjoy the fellowship and great food. This dinner benefits all our masonic youth.

I encourage all the Sir Knights, Companions, and families to join us at 5:30 PM at Sanford Lodge.

District 5 York Rite Festival

This fall’s York Rite Festival was a great success!  We had 14 new members receiving the various degrees and orders of the rites.  We had a good turnout with many dignitaries from the various bodies present.

The degrees and orders were performed well even with a few last minute replacements who had a very short time to learn their parts.

The meals provided during the festival were delicious and plentiful, we want to thank Comp. Edgar’s wife, Natasha,  for keeping all of us fed and happy.

We would also like to thank Sanford Lodge / York Rite Bodies for allowing the use of their lodge to host the festival due to scheduling conflicts at or home lodge.

Year after year we can see the fellowship of Freemasonry as many Brothers, Companions and Sir Knights from different Lodges, Chapters, Councils and Commanderies come together for these festivals.  It’s a lot of hard work and we appreciate the time and effort that our brothers have dedicated in order to make a good impression on the new members.

If you want to join the Orlando York Rite Bodies, it’s not too late! We will be having another festival in the Spring. Contact us to begin the process.
