By Norris G. Abbott, Jr., 33°Thomas Smith Webb, the "Founding Father of the York, or American
Rite," as he is appropriately described by Herbert T. Leyland, his
biographer, was born October 30, 1771, in Boston. He holds the rare
distinction of being actively connected with the formation of two large
national masonic bodies' testimony to the respect in which he was held
by his masonic brethren.
He received his education in Boston
public schools and also began the study of music there which was to be
an enjoyable diversion throughout his life. His business career was
extensive and varied. After serving an apprenticeship with his father
as a bookbinder, he started in for himself in Keene, N.H., and then
moved to Albany, N.Y., where he changed to the monufacture of wallpaper
with considerable success.

Companions:
Royal Arch Masons are looking forward to the Orlando Council's Table Council. Each year, we recognize one of the three Orlando York Rite Bodies.
This year, we honor/recognize/lightly roast or roast M.E. Companion Wayne E. Parks Past Grand High Priest.
The Honoree is a Past Grand High Priest in Florida. He has had a lifetime of service to Masons in Florida (and the World). We are looking forward to a fun evening and we expect to raise funds to support all three Humanitarian Charities.
Please put the date of October 8th on your calendar. It is a regular meeting night, so come and honor a friend & companion, knowing your contribution goes to a noble cause.

A fund-raising Table Council to be hld at Eola Lodge on October 8th (2nd Thursday) has been scheduled to honor our M.E. Companion Wayne E. Parks, Past Grand High Priest. Mark your calendar to make this event a fun-filled event.

Although the Council was originated in America in 1818, the degrees came to the U.S. through France. The ritualistic color of the Council is purple, emblematic of perfection. The degrees are primarily concerned with building activities at King Solomon's Temple.

Sir Knights:
I hope this communication finds you well and prosperous. Ready for the 4th of July, God bless America!!! and we pray for all mankind to see that the whole world will be a better place to live.
July is a very busy month for us. We would like to see all Knights in attendance. We need your support and once again we try to get more brothers to join us, in our Commandery. Nothing is more discouraging than lighting an empty Lodge, we need you now. Remember that our goal is to increase our membership 10 percent and retain those we already have. I'm looking forward for your support and kindness.
For sickness and distress, pray for our sick Companions, specially for our Sir Knight R.W. Tony Stipich.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day.
In closing I would like to say to those York Rite members that used to be active but haven't been around, we are at a time when we need your support and influence. Please stop for a meeting occasionally, we would love to see you.
Miguel Arteaga, E.C.
